The Tulips of Forest Park

Each year Forest Park visitors eagerly anticipate one of the more colorful signs of spring: The emergence of tulips throughout the Park.

But while many know to look for the annual displays flanking Art Hill, did you know there are several other locations where Forest Park Forever staff prepare the way for tulips and other flowers to show their array of colors?

See examples of just some of the other tulip locations below. (Note: Tulips outside the Jewel Box are maintained by the Flora Conservancy in partnership with the St. Louis Department of Parks, Recreation and Forestry.)

Not sure where these locations are? Orient yourself with the mobile-friendly, GPS-enabled map at forestparkmap.org.

But the work to prepare beautiful tulips doesn’t begin with the new year — beds are prepped and bulbs are planted back in the fall.
