KSDK's Heidi Glaus recently asked us to take her to a 'hidden treasure' in Forest Park. One spot jumped immediately to mind: the Deer Lake Savanna, located here:

Earlier this year, Forest Park Forever Park Ecologist Peter VanLinn actually wrote a "More to Explore" column about this gem of a natural area — what visitors will find there and how it's been developed strategically over the past decade. 

Peter had a great time taking Heidi to this area, which — despite her hundreds of trips to the Park — she had never experienced herself. Watch below:
